Contractor blamed for not repairing roof properly

WILLIAMSON -- A Mingo County town is suing over claims a roof contractor negligently repaired the roof of a municipal building.


Town of Gilbert filed a lawsuit Feb. 3 in Mingo Circuit Court against Tim Cox, doing business as A+ Repairs, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, in January 2011, the town of Gilbert hired A+ Repairs to repair the roof a municipal building for $90,000. The plaintiff says the roof is now leaking and must be replaced.

The town of Gilbert is seeking damages, the cost to fix the roof and attorney fees.

It is being represented in the case by attorney Glen R. Rutledge. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John L. Cummings.
