Raleigh Co. man says Tacoma was a lemon

BECKLEY -- A Raleigh County man is suing over claims Toyota has failed to fix his recently purchased vehicle.


Ronald G. Acord filed a lawsuit March 25 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc.

According to the complaint, on May 9, Acord purchased a Toyota Tacoma that subsequently proved to have non-conformities rendering the vehicle useless. Acord says Toyota failed to fix or replace the car.

Acord is seeking a refund of the $22,323 purchase price, sales tax and damages sustained in seeking replacement transportation.

He is being represented in the case by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside.
