WILLLIAMSON -- A man files a petition for approval of a wrongful death settlement after his wife died as a result of taking GlaxoSmithKline prescription drug.
Clinton White, as administrator of the estate of Rosella White, filed a petition for approval of wrongful death settlement Feb. 26 in Mingo Circuit Court against GlaxoSmithKline LLC.
White claims his wife was taking a drug manufactured by the defendant, Avandia. The claim states the negligence of the defendant resulted in Rosella White's untimely death. According to the brief, White and his attorney negotiated with the defendant a confidential agreement for the settlement of the wrongful death claim he filed against the defendant.
The proposed settlement states the defendant will pay White the confidential sum of $62,160 to release the defendant from any claims arising out of Rosella White's wrongful death on July 1, 2008.
The plaintiff is seeking the court's approval of the settlement and disbursement of the money and for any other relief court deems just and proper.
