City of St. Albans named in fatal car wreck suit

Stalbans

CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County city and a man are being sued over claims his negligence caused a deadly car accident.

Jeff Paul, as administrator of the estate of Angela Oxley, filed a lawsuit March 21 in Kanawha Circuit Court against William R. Pauley and the City of St. Albans, citing negligence.

Paul claims Oxley was walking on U.S. 60 in St. Albans with two of her children on Oct. 3, when the defendant hit and killed Oxley. The suit alleges the defendant was not paying attention to his surrounding while driving, causing the car accident.

Paul is seeking damages in excess of the court's jurisdictional limits and court costs.

He is being represented in the case by attorney D. Adrian Hoosier II of The Hoosier Law Firm PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie L. Webster.
