NEW CUMBERLAND -- A Morgantown resident is suing over claims she sustained serious injury after being bit by a dog.
Michaela Amendola, through her parents and natural guardians, Michael and Carol Amendola, filed a lawsuit April 8 in Hancock Circuit Court against Deborah Dobosz, citing strict liability and negligence.
According to the complaint, Michaela Amendola was invited by Dobosz to visit and spend the night with Dobosz's daughter on March 28, 2013. While Michaela Amendola was at the Dobosz residence, at 285 Santa Rita Drive in Weirton, the defendant's dog bit the plaintiff's hand, according to the complaint.
Amendola is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
The plaintiff is being represented in the case by attorney Dino S. Colombo of Colombo Law. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David J. Sims.
