WHEELING – Dinsmore & Shohl’s Christopher P. Riley has been named to the West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellows 2014 Class.

Riley is one of 18 new members who will be honored during the Annual Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner. Over the 16 years of the program, 300 judges and attorneys have been named fellows. The West Virginia Bar Association selects members based on their dedication to the legal profession and to improving their community.

“It’s a great honor to be named a Bar Foundation Fellow,” Riley said. “I am truly humbled to be recognized with those who have contributed so much to the profession, our State, and their local communities, including my father, Arch Riley.

"From day one, he emphasized a lawyer’s duty of service to the profession and principles of justice it protects. It is duty and legacy which I have always aspired to fulfill.”

Riley’s father, Arch W. Riley Sr., was named a Foundation Fellow in 2004.

The new class will be honored at the Annual Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner on April 24, 2014. The program will also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Bar Foundation.

Riley is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate Department, Real Estate Practice Group, and Shale Resources Team, with extensive experience counseling small business, educational institutions, and public agencies on a variety of issues.

At the firm, he regularly teams with lawyers in the employment, health care, finance, and family wealth planning areas to provide local access to a broad range of resources.

Prior to joining the firm, Chris practiced for more than 25 years in the Wheeling law firm, Bailey, Riley & Harman, started by his great grandfather, T.S. Riley in 1878.
