Man files suit against hotel, employee after traffic accident

CHARLESTON -- A commuter is suing a company that owns a Charleston hotel and one of its employees after being involved in a traffic accident.

Edgar C. Anderson filed a lawsuit March 24 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Robert C. Isabell and BBL Carlton Charleston House L.L.C., citing negligence.

The lawsuit states Anderson’s vehicle was involved in an accident on Virginia Street near the Clendenin Street intersection on Dec. 9, 2012, that also involved a BBL Carlton Charleston House vehicle driven by Isabell.

Isabell was driving the vehicle in a negligent and reckless manner and caused his vehicle to collide with Anderson’s vehicle, the complaint states. Anderson suffered property damage and bodily injuries, the complaint states.

Anderson is seeking damages that include medical cost, pain and inconvenience, pre and post-judgment interest, plus court costs.

He is being represented by private attorney Clinton W. Smith. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
