Workinjury

WHEELING -- A Harrison County man is suing over claims he was injured while working as a delivery man for a drilling company.

Jesse Johnson filed a lawsuit April 21 in Ohio Circuit Court against C&R Downhole Drilling Inc. and Patterson-UTI Drilling Company LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Johnson was working as an employee of C&R Downhole, delivering loads of drill pipe on July 10, when he was injured. The lawsuit states he made a delivery of pipes stacked by a C&R employee to Patterson-UTI, where he was standing near his truck while Patterson employees unloaded the pipes, and he was struck by one. The defendants are accused of negligence.

Johnson is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimums.

He is being represented in the case by attorneys David E. Goddard and Edmund L. Wagoner of Goddard & Wagoner. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Ronald E. Wilson.
