Woman's estate files slip-and-fall suit against Wal-Mart

LOGAN -- Wal-Mart is being sued by an estate after a woman allegedly fell and sustained injury at the store.

Billy Joe Casey, administrator of the estate of Nancy Casey, deceased, filed a lawsuit April 4 in Logan Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., doing business as Wal-Mart Superstore No. 2610.

The complaint states Nancy Casey visited the Wal-Mart store in Logan on April 8, 2012, when she tripped and fell due to the concrete outside the store. As a result of the fall, Nancy Casey sustained injuries, which resulted in medical bills, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff is seeking $50,000 in damages.

The estate is being represented in the case by Mark Hobbs. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Roger L. Perry.
