WINFIELD -- A Putnam County business is suing to collect more than $30,000 of unpaid invoices.

Kanawha Scales & Systems Inc. filed a lawsuit April 29 in Putnam Circuit Court against Bluestone Industries Inc. and Bluestone Coal Corp.

The complaint states Kanawha Scales & Systems and Bluestone Coal entered into a maintenance service agreement where Kanawha Scales provided maintenance to the defendant's scales, controls and weighing devices.

The plaintiff states it provided the agreed upon services and goods and invoiced the defendants from June 11, until Nov. 25.

The defendants have failed to pay and therefore defaulted under the terms of the agreement and invoices, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff is seeking $30,663.85, plus interest, costs and fees.

Kanawha Scales & Systems is being represented in the case by Robert L. Bandy of Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip M. Stowers.
