Pa. widow accuses husband's employers of wrongful death

Wrongfuldeath

WHELLING -- A Pennsylvania widow is suing her husband's employers after he was killed in explosion while on the job.

Antoinette M. Miller, individually and as executor of the estate of Raymond P. Miller, filed a lawsuit April 23 in Ohio Circuit Court against Magnum Hunter Resources Corporation, Eureka Hunter Pipeline LLC, Triad Hunter LLC, Transtex Hunter LLC, Exterran Energy Solutions LP, Apex Pipeline Services Inc. and Western Oilfields Supply Company, doing business as Rain for Rent, citing trespass.

Antoinette Miller claims Raymond P. Miller was employed by defendant Exterran Energy Solutions working at the Twin Hickory natural gas compressor station in Tyler County.

The suit alleges the defendants failed to properly engineer and design the station, failed to have safe storage for the natural gas, failed to properly train employees and supervisors, and failed to modify the way they cleaned the pipes after given sound advice to do so, and they didn't have the correct equipment.

According to the brief, the negligence of the defendants resulted in an explosion on April 11, 2013, causing severe and painful burns and inhalation injuries to Raymond, ultimately causing his death on April 15, 2013.

The plaintiff is seeking damages, attorneys' fees, court costs, interest, and all other relief the court deems just.

She is being represented by Charleston attorneys Christopher D. Pence, David J. Hardy, Wm. Scott Wickline and Eric L. Silkwood of Hardy Pence PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David J. Sims.
