Fayette woman says pothole caused injuries

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Fayette County woman is suing over claims she was injured when the car she was a passenger in hit a pothole.

Rose Lita Adkins filed a lawsuit May 6 in Fayette Circuit Court against Jerry Adkins and the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Rose Lita Adkins was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Jerry Adkins on W.Va. 61 on May 11, when the vehicle hit a pothole and veered off the road, causing injury to the plaintiff's back, neck, head and a fracture to her hand. The defendants are accused of negligence.

Rose Lita Adkins is seeking damages in an amount to be determined by the court.

She is being represented in the case by attorney David M. Dawson of John R. Mitchell L.C.
