POINT PLEASANT -- An Ohio man is suing over claims he was exposed to toxic chemicals when equipment malfunctioned at a chemical facility.
Jordan and April Greene filed a lawsuit April 30 in Mason Circuit Court against ICL-IP America Inc., citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Jordan Greene was employed by Conley Trucking and present at Letart Corporation Sand and Gravel in Gallipolis Ferry near ICL-IP America's chemical facility May 4, 2012, when a pump failure at the facility released a chemical cloud to which Jordan Greene was exposed.
Jordan Green underwent decontamination and emergency medical treatment and suffered skin irritation and lung and pulmonary system injuries, according to the suit.
The Greenes are seeking damages in an amount above the jurisdictional minimum.
They are being represented in the case by attorney Matthew L. Clark of Kayser Layne & Clark PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Thomas C. Evans.
