PERSONNEL FILE: Nine Huddleston Bolen attorneys, five practice areas honored

HUNTINGTON -- Nine Huddleston Bolen partners and five practice areas have been recognized in the prestigious Chambers USA 2014 Guide: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

In Corporate and Commercial law, Chambers USA recognized Dan Earl, Tom Gilpin, Tom Murray, Audy Perry and Chris Plybon.

The Guide praised the team, quoting a client who describes Plybon as “a phenomenal attorney.” Clients also commended Gilpin, describing themselves as being, “impressed with his knowledge, efficiency, and ability” and Earl, saying, “He is really professional. And on top of that, he knows how to close a good deal.”

Chambers USA also recognized the firm’s Labor and Employment practice, highlighting the work of Kevin Nelson and Scott Sheets. In describing the practice, the Guide noted the team’s work in defending wrongful discharge and discrimination claims.

In Litigation, Chambers USA recognized Dick Bolen and JH Mahaney. The Guide describes the practice as having strengths in mass tort and class actions, as well as matters involving complex business disputes, environmental cases and regulatory work. Quoting a client, the guide said of Mahaney, “He is incredibly thorough in anticipating every possible situation.”

Chambers USA described lawyers in the firm’s Natural Resource practice as being, “good communicators, excellent in knowing the nuances of West Virginia’s natural resource law.” In particular, Chambers USA singled out Bolen, noting that he is “very good and very responsive.”

Chambers USA noted the firm’s strengths in Real Estate law, particularly in commercial development, financing, and acquisitions. In its review, the Guide quoted clients who described the firm’s real estate practice as “Excellent” and having “performed outstandingly.” The Guide calls out Gilpin, noting his work with healthcare clients and mineral transactions, and Plybon, who the Chambers USA says has “a wealth of experience in acquisition and financing transactions.”
