PERSONNEL FILE: Flannery reappointed to National Coal Council

CHARLESTON -- Steptoe & Johnson attorney David M. Flannery has been reappointed by the U.S. Secretary of Energy to serve on the National Coal Council (NCC) for the 2014-2015 membership term.

This marks Flannery’s second consecutive term on the council.

Flannery joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2013.  He focuses his practice in the areas of environmental, regulatory, and energy law.  Flannery regularly represents clients in state and federal courts in environmental and enforcement matters, and advises clients on compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.

He is included among The Best Lawyers in America® and Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

As a Federal Advisory Committee, the NCC examines coal-related policy matters and provides advice and guidance to the Secretary of Energy.
