Wrongfuldeath

FAYETTEVILLE -- A woman has filed a petition for approval of a wrongful death settlement after her mother died from breast cancer.

Rebecca Allport, as administrator of the estate of Clara Allport, filed a petition for approval of a wrongful death settlement May 14 in Fayette Circuit Court against Prempro Products Liability Litigation, American Home Products Corporation, Calwell HRT Escrow Trust and The Garretson Resolution Group Inc.

Rebecca claims her mother, Clara Allport, joined in a class action lawsuit in the District Court of Arkansas which was not concluded until after her death caused by breast cancer on Jan. 10, 2012. The claim states the plaintiff is seeking the approval of Clara's settlement proceeds, attorneys' fees and the settlement of her wrongful death claim.

Allport is seeking the court's approval of the settlement and disbursement of the money and for any other relief court deems just and proper.

Allport is being represented by Fayetteville attorney James C. Blankenship III.
