Woman files slip-and-fall suit against Ollie's

HUNTINGTON -- A woman is suing an outlet store after sustaining injuries in a fall.

Melda Trogdon filed a lawsuit June 4 in Cabell Circuit Court against Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Inc. of Charleston.

The lawsuit states Trogdon was at the Ollie’s store in Barboursville on June 13, 2013, when an employee was assisting her with obtaining a large truck. The employee used a large low cart to place the truck on and was pushing it through the store with Trogdon following behind, the complaint states. The employee abruptly stopped, causing Trogdon to fall.

The lawsuit states Trogdon has incurred medical expenses and has permanent injuries requiring future treatment.

Trogdon is seeking damages in an amount to adequately compensate for injuries, plus interest and court costs.

Trogdon is being represented by R.R.Fredeking II of Fredeking & Fredeking Law Offices L.C. of Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
