PERSONNEL FILE: Nelson Mullins attorneys honored in Super Lawyers

CHARLESTON – Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough West Virginia partners Marc E. Williams, Robert L. Massie, and Randall L. Saunders have been selected for inclusion in the 2014 West Virginia Super Lawyers and Rising Stars publication.

Williams was selected to Super Lawyers for his business litigation practice. Massie was selected to Super Lawyers for his transportation/maritime practice. Saunders was selected as a Rising Star for his civil litigation: defense practice.

Williams is the West Virginia managing partner. His practice includes trial and appellate levels of class actions and other mass torts, as well as commercial litigation, employment disputes, toxic torts, consumer fraud, drug and medical device litigation, intellectual property and trade secrets, and environmental claims.  Williams has experience in the defense of lawsuits alleging psychological injury, brain injury, medical monitoring, insurance coverage and bad faith, and catastrophic injury.

Massie is experienced in handling large and complex litigation in the state. He primarily practices in the areas of insurance defense and bad faith litigation, product liability, toxic tort litigation, railroad litigation, transportation, and trucking law. Massie is currently the DRI – The Voice of the Defense Bar State Representative for West Virginia.

Saunders chairs the Tax Lien, Escrow, Lost Property, and Redemption Group. His practice primarily focuses on real estate taxation and lien-related disputes and litigation, commercial and consumer financial services litigation, and class action defense. He represents both national and regional banks, financial servicing institutions, and various entities associated with the tax lien industry across the country, through local counsel when necessary, with respect to tax lien sales, disputes, and related litigation.
