Two women accuse Huntington Banks of wrongful termination

Huntingtonbank

WINFIELD -- A Kanawha County woman and an Ohio woman are suing over claims their employment at a bank was wrongfully terminated.

Mary Bradley and Lisa Saunders filed a lawsuit June 9 in Putnam Circuit Court against Huntington Bancshares Inc. and Tom Dixon, citing wrongful termination.

According to the complaint, Bradley and Saunders were employed by Huntington as branch managers at different branches of its bank in West Virginia under the district manager, Dixon, when several other employees were transferred to management positions without posting the vacant spots, against company policy, making it impossible for Bradley and Saunders to apply.

The plaintiffs say they were paid lower wages than their male counterparts with significantly less experience. The plaintiffs were both fired Jan. 9, for alleged violations of company policy.

Bradley and Saunders are seeking punitive and exemplary damages.

They are being represented in the case by attorney Jon D. Hoover of Hoover Andrews in Barboursville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip M. Stowers.
