PERSONNEL FILE: Flanery named Law360 Female Powerbroker

CHARLESTON – Sharon O. Flanery, chair of Steptoe & Johnson’s Energy and Natural Resources Department, has been included among the Female Powerbrokers by legal news source Law360.

The Female Powerbrokers series highlights prominent women leaders in law firms throughout the United States. The series also featured a Q&A with Flanery.

Flanery concentrates her legal practice in the areas of energy and natural resources law. Before pursuing her legal career, she worked as a petroleum engineer. With both an operating and legal background in the industry, she brings real world experience to her practice.

This experience includes acquisitions and divestitures, mineral leases, joint ventures, contract mining agreements, joint operating agreements, as well as gathering, transportation, and processing agreements. Flanery is also a member of the advisory board of the West Virginia University College of Law Center for Energy and Sustainable Development.
