BECKLEY -- A Raleigh County woman is suing over claims she was injured at a baseball stadium.

Martha L. Epling filed a lawsuit July 2 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Beckley Baseball LLC and Linda K. Epling Stadium LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Epling was visiting Linda K. Epling Stadium on July 3, 2012, when she was hit on the arm by a baseball bat at a West Virginia Miners game due to the lack of a barrier or protection from such. The defendant is accused of negligence in failing to provide spectators protection from foreseeable injuries.

Epling says her injury incurred medical expenses of more than $45,000, and she is seeking damages and loss of income.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore in Fayetteville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John A. Hutchison.
