CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County man is suing over claims he was not paid by his former employer in a timely manner after being discharged.
Thomas Yaussy filed a lawsuit Aug. 1 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Pressley Ridge Inc., citing the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.
According to the complaint, Yaussy was employed by Pressley Ridge Schools as a teacher/counselor until he was suspended without pay and discharged March 10. Yaussy says the defendant failed to pay him his full wages in a timely manner as specified by the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.
Yaussy is seeking more than $4,700 in damages and attorney fees.
He is represented by attorney David S. Russo of Robinson & McElwee in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
