PERSONNEL FILE: Seven Jenkins Fenstermaker attorneys listed in Super Lawyers

HUNTINGTON – Seven attorneys of Jenkins Fenstermaker PLLC have been named to the West Virginia Super Lawyers list as top attorneys in West Virginia for 2014.

No more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers.

Lee Murray Hall, a member of the firm’s litigation group, was recognized for her practice in insurance coverage, insurance defense, and bad faith defense. Her practice includes defense of municipal liability claims, motor vehicle and trucking claims, premises claims, construction accidents, deliberate intent, and medical malpractice claims. Hall has been with Jenkins Fenstermaker since 1993.

Barbara J. Keefer, of counsel in the firm’s litigation group, also was recognized for her practice in insurance coverage, insurance defense, and bad faith defense. Her practice includes defense of unfair trade practice claims, insurance agent errors and omissions, personal injury, construction matters, trucking cases, deliberate intent, products liability, and premises liability. Keefer is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the Insurance Institute of America.

Thomas E. Scarr is also in the firm’s litigation group. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation, products liability, toxic tort, and labor and employment law. Scarr is sought after as a mediator in civil matters.

Robert H. Sweeney Jr. heads up the firm’s litigation group. His practice is based in general civil litigation, with a concentration in the defense of mesothelioma and asbestos claims, construction disputes, and defending employers in deliberate intent suits. Sweeney has been trial counsel in every asbestos trial group in West Virginia since 2003.

Barry M. Taylor, a member of the firm’s litigation group, was recognized for his practice in the defense of doctors and hospitals in personal injury due to medical liability claims. His practice also includes the defense of medical product liability, and pharmacy matters.

Eleni C. Kontos-Miller, a member of the firm’s litigation group, was recognized as a Rising Star in general personal injury defense. Her practice areas include insurance defense litigation, medical malpractice defense, and insurance coverage disputes.

Sarah A. Walling, also in the firm’s litigation group, was recognized as a Rising Star for her insurance coverage practice. In addition to insurance coverage, Walling focuses her practice in the areas of public sector liability, construction litigation, and real estate. She also was recognized by the West Virginia State Journal in its 2013 Generation Next: 40 Under 40, which highlights professionals younger than 40 who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the state.
