Monroecounty e1380156856117

UNION – A Monroe County woman is suing over claims her son was injured near a playground.

Jennifer Maxwell, mother and next friend of Jackson Treadaway, a minor, filed a lawsuit Aug. 15 in Monroe Circuit Court against the Monroe County Board of Education, The Old Greenville School Inc., Springfield Sports and Activities Center Inc., and Greenville Community and 4-H Center Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Treadaway was at The Old Greenville School on Aug. 17, 2012, when he received a large laceration on his leg from the jagged glass of a window. The complaint states the defendants were negligent in their upkeep of the premises, which contained playground equipment. The defendants are also accused of breach of warranty of habitability.

Maxwell is seeking damages, attorney fees and interest. She is represented by attorney Randall L. Veneri in Princeton.
