Woman files slip-and-fall suit against Red Lobster

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County woman is suing over claims she was injured after slipping on the wet floor of a restaurant.

Robin G. and Walter Jones filed a lawsuit Sept. 8 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Red Lobster Hospitality, and Red Lobster Restaurants Inc., doing business as Red Lobster of Charleston, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Robin Jones was at the Red Lobster in Charleston on Sept. 18, 2012, when she slipped on an accumulation of liquid on the floor and fell, sustaining permanent injuries to her shoulder, back, and hip. The defendants are accused of negligence in failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition for customers. Walter Jones is suing for loss of companionship.

The Joneses seek compensatory and punitive damages and attorney fees.

They are represented by attorney James R. Fox of Fox Law Office PLLC in Hurricane.
