Marion Co. man blames hotel for injuries

WHEELING – A Marion County man is suing over claims he was injured on the premises of a hotel parking garage.

James Mason filed a lawsuit Nov. 13 in Ohio Circuit Court against McLure Hotel, also known as FG Management Co., FA Management Corp Inc., and FA Management Enterprises Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Mason was walking on the pathway leading to McLure Hotel's parking garage on Jan. 10, when he slipped on liquid accumulated on a wooden ramp and fell. The defendants are accused of negligence in failing to remove snow and ice from the premises and properly maintain it.

Mason seeks more than $50,000 in damages including medical expenses and lost wages.

He is represented by attorneys Jeffery D. Taylor and Ashley Joseph Smith of Rose Padden Petty Taylor & Lilly in Fairmont. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Martin J. Gaughan.
