Man claims he was injured at county fair

POINT PLEASANT – A Mason County man is suing over claims he was permanently injured on the Mason County Fairgrounds.

Larry D. Pyles Jr. and Pamela Pyles filed a lawsuit Dec. 5 in Mason Circuit Court against Mason County Fair Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Larry and Pamela Pyles were on the defendant's Mason County Fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Road in Point Pleasant on Aug. 9, 2013, when Larry Pyles sustained a traumatic brain injury due to the negligence of the defendant. The complaint states Pyles has incurred more than $90,000 in medical expenses, lost $150,000 in earnings and sustained a $1.5 million loss of earning capacity. Pamela Pyles is suing for loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs are represented by attorneys Harvey D. Peyton and Thomas H. Peyton of Peyton Law Firm in Nitro. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David W. Nibert.
