Woman says she was sexually harassed at work

PRINCETON – A Mercer County woman is suing over claims she was sexually harassed at work.

Jacklyn McPherson filed a lawsuit Nov. 19 in Mercer Circuit Court against Swampfox Motorsports of West Virginia, James Davidson and Perry Goins, citing gender discrimination.

According to the complaint, McPherson was employed by Swampfox Motorsports, owned by Davidson, where she was subjected to sexual harassment and gender discrimination by Davidson and another employee, Goins. McPherson says she was told she acted like a girl too much and was too sensitive, ridiculed for her clothing and told to show her legs more, called a stripper, told she looked better after she lost weight while ill, subjected to pornography in the workplace, and told to clean like a woman should.

The lawsuit also says she was forced to pay her ex-husband's medical bills when a creditor called the defendant and threatened to garnish her wages, which the defendant said was too much trouble, even though other employees had them.

The complaint says Goins told her to sleep with him and to send him nude pictures of herself, told her he would leave his wife and daughter for her, said he wanted to perform oral sex on her and sent her a picture of his penis.

McPherson says she filed a complaint about the treatment she was subjected to but no internal investigation was done and nothing changed, so she resigned in April.

McPherson seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

She is represented by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt and Salvatore in Fayetteville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Omar Aboulhosn.
