Woman blames crash injuries on Putnam Aging

WINFIELD – A Putnam County woman is suing over claims she was injured while a passenger in a Putnam County Aging Program vehicle.

Dorothy F. Anderson filed a lawsuit Nov. 24 in Putnam Circuit Court against Putnam County Aging Program Inc. and Roderic F. Nicholson, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Anderson was a passenger in a vehicle owned by Putnam County Aging Program and driven by Nicholson, an employee or volunteer, on W.Va. 817 on Sept. 5, when Anderson failed to keep control of the vehicle, causing it crash and land in a ditch. Anderson says she sustained injuries, and the defendants are accused of negligence. Putnam County Aging Program is sued pursuant to respondeat superior.

Anderson seeks compensatory damages, medical expenses, interest and attorney fees.

She is represented by attorney Eric S. Embree of Tyree, Embree & Associates in Hurricane. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joseph Reeder.
