PERSONNEL FILE: Jackson Kelly elects four new members

CHARLESTON – Jackson Kelly recently promoted Vivian H. Basdekis, Jennifer S. Caradine, Lindsay Darling Petrosky and Dana M. Svendsen to membership status effective Jan. 1.


Jackson Kelly has a long reputation of promoting women to leadership roles. The firm’s Managing Member, Ellen S. Cappellanti, said: “We are proud to announce the promotion of our four newest members and we know that they will augment our legacy of providing excellent service to our clients.”

Jackson Kelly was recently awarded the “Gold Standard Certification” by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF), a designation for law firms that have integrated women in top leadership positions. The certification process focused on the significant number of women represented in positions of power, decision making positions and top-earning attorneys for Jackson Kelly. WILEF is dedicated to assisting women in law to assume leadership roles.

Basdekis practices in the Commercial Law Practice Group in the firm's Charleston office. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation. Her experience includes handling complex contract disputes and business torts; lender liability and financial services litigation; construction disputes, mechanics liens and bond claims; First Amendment, media and broadcast laws defamation; intellectual property; and adoption and surrogacy law.

Caradine practices in the Land and Natural Resource Development and the Commercial Law Practice Groups in the firm's Morgantown office.  Her practice includes a variety of real estate transactions, focusing on oil and gas property acquisitions, divestitures, title examinations and curative work in addition to commercial real estate transactions.

Petrosky practices in the Health Care and Finance Practice Group and the Commercial Law Practice Group in the firm’s Pittsburgh office where she focuses primarily on health care and corporate transactional matters. Petrosky advises health care clients in a variety of matters including general business issues, regulatory and compliance under HIPAA, Stark, Anti-Kickback and other state and federal laws as wells as Certificate of Need and professional board issues.

Svendsen practices in the Occupational Safety and Health Practice Group in the firm's Denver office. Svendsen represents industry clients in matters relating to the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act and other state and federal health statutes in the areas of compliance, policy, legislative and regulatory matters, civil and criminal enforcement issues, accident investigations and special investigations on both state and federal levels.
