ROTC cadet says he was hurt at Princeton High

Princetonhigh

PRINCETON – A Mercer County man is suing over claims he was injured on school grounds.

Carl D. Dillingham filed a lawsuit Dec. 31, 2014, in Mercer Circuit Court against the Board of Education of the county of Mercer.

According to the complaint, Dillingham was a senior at Princeton Senior High School and was playing Frisbee with other ROTC cadets on school grounds March 27, 2012, when he landed in a hole on otherwise level ground and injured his ankle. The complaint states the hole had previously been reported to the defendant but no action was taken. Dillingham says he was previously nominated to attend West Point but due to the injury he was medically disqualified by the Army, making him lose his paid four-year college education.

Dillingham is represented by attorney William O. Huffman in Princeton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Derek C. Swope.
