Former resident's son sues nursing home

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County man is suing over claims his mother was injured while a resident of a nursing home.

Ricky Dye, as personal representative of the estate of Charlotte Dye, filed a lawsuit Dec. 3, 2014, in Kanawha Circuit Court against SweetBriar Assisted Living Facility, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Charlotte Dye was a resident of SweetBriar from Dec. 13, 2012, until May 22, 2013, during which time staff negligently allowed her to suffer multiple falls that resulted in injuries to her chest, abdomen and spine. Her son is suing under a wrongful death claim.

Ricky Dye is represented by attorneys Andrew L. Paternostro and Jeff D. Stewart of The Bell Law Firm in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King Jr.
