Man says he was fired after getting workers' comp

HUNTINGTON – A Cabell County man is suing over claims he was fired in retaliation for receiving workers' compensation benefits.

Mark A. Bell filed a lawsuit in Cabell Circuit Court against USIC Locating Services Inc., doing business as United States Infrastructure Corporation, citing retaliatory discharge.

According to the complaint, Bell was injured in an automobile accident while working for the defendant on June 3, 2011, and filed for workers' compensation benefits. Bell says he was fired Dec. 11, 2012, despite being under the care of several physicians and unable to work.

Bell is represented by attorney Thomas P. Boggs of Duffield, Lovejoy, Stemple & Boggs  in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
