PERSONNEL FILE: Swann named to DRI committee

CHARLESTON – Jackson Kelly attorney Danielle W. Swann was recently appointed to the Defense Research Institute Issues and Advocacy Committee.

DRI is the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel that provides access to resources and tools for attorneys. DRI strives to serve the defense bar with a focus on education, justice, balance, economics, professionalism and service. The Issues and Advocacy Committee identifies issues of substantive law, judicial process and judicial reform that are important to DRI’s membership and to which it can add a unique voice.

Swann is Counsel in the Commercial Law Practice Group and the Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs Practice Group in the firm's Charleston office. She has wide legal experience, including litigating commercial banking cases and handling complex multi‑party construction matters. Swann also has extensive experience in government relations for a wide array of local, state and national business clients.

Swann has published and lectured on construction matters, including the 2009 DRI Desk Reference on West Virginia. She is extensively involved in the DRI Construction Law Group, where she is a member of the National Steering Committee, and was the 2014 National Seminar Chair. She is well versed in West Virginia legislative and administrative matters and has represented and appeared before several state agencies. Swann is a member of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Government Relations Committee and the YWCA Public Policy Committee.
