Widow files suit after husband's electrocution

Wrongfuldeath

FAYETTEVILLE – A woman is suing an electrical company and car dealership over claims a man was electrocuted while working on the defendants' premises.

Shuanna Cole, as administrator for James Cole II, filed a lawsuit Jan. 22 in Fayette Circuit Court against Southern Electrical Contractors Inc. and Mid-State Automotive Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 28, 2014, James Cole II was employed by Southern Electrical Contractors and assigned to Mid-State Automotive to perform work and was electrocuted while working on the property, resulting in his death. The defendants were aware of the unsafe working conditions and intentionally exposed Cole to the hazard, the suit states, and violated state and federal statues by exposing the decedent to the dangerous working conditions.

Shuanna Cole is represented by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore in Fayetteville.
