CHARLESTON – Karen Price of Robinson & McElwee is being inducted into the University of Charleston’s Alumni Gallery of Achievement.
Price is one of five new alums who joined the 42 recognized alumni. Induction into the Alumni Gallery of Achievement is the highest honor bestowed upon UC alumni.
The University of Charleston (and Morris Harvey) alums who are inducted into the Gallery have achieved great success in their career, contributed greatly to their alma mater, and/or have been instrumental in societal advancements. Price is recognized as a leader in the manufacturing industry.
She has more than 22 years of service as the West Virginia Manufacturing Association’s president and over decade of experience in economic development as a member of the West Virginia Economic Development Office. She has worked with numerous governors, the West Virginia Legislature, and various regulatory agencies to address economic development barriers in the state.
Price has dedicated her career to West Virginia’s economic development and, in her position as Legislative Liaison at Charleston-based law firm Robinson & McElwee PLLC, she works to promote and protect clients’ interests in doing business in the Mountain State.
Price has the distinction of being recognized as a “Woman of Achievement,” by the YWCA of Charleston. Her talents have also been recognized through the many leadership positions that she has held including: Vandalia Rotary (past President); WV Business and Industry Council (past Chair); American Society Association Executives, West Virginia (Member and past President); Charleston Area Medical Center Board of Trustees (Member) and Public Policy and Planning Committee (Chair); Bridgemont Community College (Board member); Business Volunteer Council (Member); DEP advisory council ( former Member); West Virginia Economic Development Council (Honorary Life Member); Reconnecting McDowell (Board Member); and Commission on School Governance (Member).
