Fayette couple sues General Motors

Lemonlaw

BECKLEY – A Fayette County couple has sued General Motors for alleged wrongdoing.

Watus L. Dow and Brenda G. Dow of Mt. Hope filed a lawsuit Feb. 10 in Raleigh Circuit Court against General Motors, alleging negligence and breach of warranty.

According to the complaint, the couple bought a new vehicle from an authorized retailer of the defendant’s product March 11, 2014, for $49,999.99, plus associated expenses. The suit states that after experiencing non-conformities with the warranty that impaired their vehicle’s use and market value the Dows requested repair or replacement.

The suit states General Motors failed to provide conformance measures, and the Dows incurred extra costs and inconvenience in attempting to maintain their vehicle.

The Dows request revocation and refund and seek compensation for repair, towing costs and other incidental expenses, plus attorney fees and costs. They are represented by attorney Christopher Frost of Hamilton, Burgess, Young and Pollard in Fayetteville.
