PRINCETON – A Mercer County resident has sued an auto manufacturer and dealer for alleged breach of contract.

Arlie H. Carter of Bluefield filed a lawsuit Feb. 9 in Mercer Circuit Court against Chrysler Group and Ramey Automotive Group Inc., doing business as Ramey Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Princeton, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Carter purchased a new Dodge Ram 1500 truck from Ramey in September 2013. Alleging non-conformities with the warranty, Carter attempted to have the defects corrected by the manufacturer but without success, the suit states. According to the suit, the defendants neither conformed to the warranty nor replaced the vehicle with a comparable model.

Carter seeks: revocation of the purchase price and fees; damages for cost of repairs, loss of use and inconvenience; attorney fees; and court costs. He is represented by attorney Kathryn Reed Bayless of Bayless Law Firm in Princeton. The case has been assigned to Judge Derek Swope.
