PERSONNEL FILE: Steptoe & Johnson announces promotions

BRIDGEPORT – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is pleased to announce that four West Virginia attorneys have been promoted to Of Counsel status. The new Of Counsels represent four of Steptoe & Johnson’s six West Virginia offices.

“Our new Of Counsels have shown tireless dedication to clients and the firm,” said Steptoe & Johnson CEO Susan S. Brewer. “We look forward to what these rising stars will accomplish in 2015.”

The promoted attorneys are:

Michael D. Clemens: From the Bridgeport office, Clemens focuses his practice in the area of energy law (coal, oil and gas). He joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2011. Clemens earned his legal degree from the University of Akron and his Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University.

Jason P. Foster: From the Charleston office, Foster concentrates his practice in the areas of energy litigation, including mineral rights disputes, property damage claims and regulatory matters, and the defense of insurance companies in first party and bad faith cases. He earned his legal degree from West Virginia University and his Bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy. He joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2007. Foster is also the chair of the West Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Executive Committee and a member of the WVU College of Law Visiting Committee.

Jessica L. Wiley: From the Huntington office, Wiley’s legal practice concentrates in the area of general litigation including transportation law, personal injury, public utility law, premises liability, and toxic torts. Wiley earned both her legal and undergraduate degrees from West Virginia University. She joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2011 and is a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves where she obtained the rank of Sergeant.

Caroline R. Mosites Kelly: From the Wheeling office, Kelly focuses her practice in the area of energy law, particularly in the area of titles for coal, oil, gas, and other minerals. She earned her legal degree from Duquesne University and her undergraduate degree from Washington & Jefferson College. She joined the firm in 2010.
