CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County man has filed suit against another individual for alleged negligence in a 2013 car accident.

Steve Goodwin Jr. brought suit against Paul Hamrick, also of Kanawha County in the Kanawha Circuit Court, claiming negligence.

According to court documents, Goodwin was a passenger in Hamrick’s vehicle on or about Jan. 13, 2013. As they traveled east on Cook Road, Hamrick allegedly lost control of his car and crashed into a tree; the suit states that he was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.

Alleging that the defendant was neglectful, Goodwin seeks damages for injuries, which he claims compromise his past and future earning capacity and enjoyment of life, as well as compensation for medical expenses, attorney fees and costs.

He is represented in the case by Charles “Rusty” Webb of the Webb Law Centre, of Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joanna Tabit.

Kanawha Circuit Court case number: 15-C-57
