CHARLESTON — The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC has announced that Managing Member Michael J. Basile recently was elected Chair of the Charleston Area Alliance Board of Directors.
“I have big shoes to fill following Chairmen Jack Rossi and Pat Bond as our recent leaders, but pledge to do my best to promote and fulfill the important goals and aspirations of the Alliance toward making our community a better place to live, work and play,” Basile said.
In addition to his leadership role as Spilman’s managing member, Basile maintains a state and local government relations practice focused on issues and policy affecting economic and community development. A strong advocate for the shale industry, he has chosen to concentrate many such efforts on the natural gas segment of the Appalachian region's economy.
Basile earned his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been recognized by Chambers USA, Super Lawyers® and Best Lawyers® for excellence in his law practice.
The Charleston Area Alliance is a multi-faceted economic, business and community development organization with more than 600 members, making it the largest regional Chamber of Commerce in West Virginia.
