RIPLEY – A Jackson County woman filed a lawsuit against an automobile manufacturer, alleging poor workmanship and breach of contract.
Amanda Fisher of Cottageville brought a complaint against Chrysler Group LLC of Ripley on March 18 in Jackson Circuit Court, claiming breach of contract and warranty in her 2013 vehicle purchase.
The plaintiff acquired a 2013 Dodge Dart from Interstate-77 Chrysler Dodge Jeep on or about March 1, 2013, with a warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. According to the filing, she began to experience problems with the vehicle’s workmanship shortly after the purchase.
Specific issues involved tire inflation, squeaks, whines and thump-style noises when turning or driving at highway speeds; rattling noises in the steering column and dashboard; mechanical, electrical and/or electronic glitches; and several other concerns, according to the complaint.
Fisher brought the car in to address the items at least a dozen times without success, according to court documents.
Alleging breach of contract, express and implied warranty; compromise of safety; diminished value of her purchase; loss of the use of her vehicle, and inconvenience, the plaintiff seeks revocation of her acceptance of the car; compensatory damages including cost of all repairs and registration fees; pre- and post-judgment interest, attorneys’ fees and costs.
