BRIDGEPORT – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC attorneys Bryan R. Cokeley and James C. Wright have been named 2015 West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellows.
They join a select group of attorneys whose careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the legal field and to the welfare of their communities. Cokeley and Wright join 17 current and former Steptoe & Johnson attorneys named West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellows.
Cokeley’s legal practice focuses on labor and employment law. He has tried more than 40 cases in state and federal courts in West Virginia and has appeared before agencies such as the West Virginia Human Rights Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Cokeley has been named a 2015 Employment Law Lawyer of the Year for the Charleston, WV area by The Best Lawyers in America and is a fellow of the American College of Labor & Employment Lawyers. Cokeley is the managing member of the firm’s Charleston, WV office. He joined Steptoe & Johnson in 1988.
Wright’s legal practice focuses on complex litigation including industrial and workplace accidents, energy, commercial and construction litigation. He has tried dozens of cases in state and federal courts in West Virginia and Ohio. Wright is included among The Best Lawyers in America and is the managing member of the firm’s Wheeling, WV office. Wright is a past president of the West Virginia State Bar. He joined Steptoe & Johnson in 1997.
