Clarksburg couple sues Wal-mart for injuries

CHARLESTON – A Clarksburg couple is suing Wal-mart after one of them sustained injuries while on its property.


Wal-mart Stores Inc. is named as a defendant.


On May 11, 2013, Mary Hustead and James Hustead were on Wal-mart's property when Mary Hustead slipped on water and fell, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.


The Husteads claim Mary Hustead suffered permanent and lasting injuries, incurred medical expenses, suffered a loss of enjoyment of life and suffered great pain of body and mind.


James Hustead suffered a loss of consortium from his wife's injuries, according to the suit.


The Husteads claim the defendants knew or should have known of the water on the floor and failed to clean it up.


The Husteads are seeking compensatory damages. They are being represented by Clayton G. Anderson of the Masters Law Firm LC.


The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
