School bus driver sues over accident

WHEELING - A school bus driver is suing the driver of an automobile with which she collided in Wheeling.

Donna R. Gregory filed the suit last month in Ohio County.

In the suit, filed by Peter P. Kurelac III, Gregory says that on Feb. 3, 2004, she was driving a school bus traveling east on Fairmont Avenue in Wheeling. Another vehicle, being operated by the defendant, Josiah Swayngim, went around a turn approaching the bus from the opposite direction. It then slid sideways and struck the school bus.

As a result of the accident, Gregory has sustained injuries to her right shoulder and left hand. She also claims she has suffered pain of body and mind, and she has incurred expenses relating to medical care in excess of $2,445. She seeks compensation for all costs relating to the incident.

She seeks a trial by jury.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James P. Mazzone.
