Man sues contracting company for faulty home construction

WHEELING - A man is suing Ohio Valley Builders for serious defects in the home which they constructed for him.

Jonathan P. Lewis filed the suit this month in Ohio County.

In the suit, Lewis claims that the home which Ohio Valley Builders constructed has continuously suffered cracks in its foundation. The cracks were repaired once by the company, but this effort later proved to be unsuccessful. The degradation of the foundation proved to be persistent.

As a result of the cracking foundation on the home, floors have sunk, bricks have cracked, and windows have wracked. Due to the foundation's instability, the home will eventually be rendered uninhabitable. Lewis seeks compensation for either repairs to the home or for its eventual loss as well as for attorney fees.

He seeks a trial by jury.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James P. Mazzone.
