* Sharon Casto was the wife of prominent Charleston chiropractor Larry Casto, who she believes was not given proper treatment in the Charleston Area Medical Center when he arrived Oct 26, 2004, and was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction. He died four weeks later.

* The Adkinses blame Nissan for the death of their son, who was involved in a head-on collision in his Nissan Maxima and his air bag did not deploy. Also, they blame the manufacturer of the seat belt he was wearing and Courts Motors in Hurricane for selling the car. They are seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

* Workman claims he slipped on some syrup that had been spilled on the floor of a Shoney's on Kanawha Boulevard in Charleston, suffering serious injuries to his left knee by aggravating a prior injury that resulted in damage to a previously complete and successful knee replacement.

* Nolan, of Bridgeport, Ohio, says Diehl worked in proximity to asbestos products at Mansuetto Roofing Company and died Feb. 24, 2004. She lists 136 defendants in the wrongful death suit.

* TGI Fridays alleges that Imperial Builders built a kitchen wall in the Cross Lanes restaurant out of plywood instead of fireproof material. When that wall caught fire, it led to the $68,294.92 worth of damages that TGI Fridays demands compensation for.

Jerry Michael Collins v. Colonel H.E. Hill, Jr., in his capacity as Superintendent of the West Virginia State Police

* Collins was convicted of abduction with intent to defile in Virginia and would like the equivalent West Virginia statute to be used in order to determine the length of his period of registration as a sex offender changed. Currently, the state considers him convicted of attempt to commit first degree sexual abuse, requiring a lifetime registration. He thinks another statute, one that results in only 10 years of registration, is more accurate.
