CHARLESTON - A Michigan-based company is claiming that Kanawha Manufacturing Company still owes it more than $1 million.
In a lawsuit filed April 13 in Kanawha Circuit Court, Rolled Alloys of Temperance, Mich., says Kanawha Manufacturing has neglected to pay for goods provided in 2005.
Rolled Alloys is represented by Larry A. Winter of the Charleston law firm Winter, Johnson and Hill.
Winter filed the lawsuit along with a copy of an invoice tracking Kanawha Manufacturing's balance on an open account.
The invoice shows 53 purchases made from Feb. 15-Dec. 30 in 2005 and only two payments. Neither of the payments paid for the entire single purchase made at the time.
With late charges and interest, Rolled Alloys is seeking to recover an amount of $1,408,934.33.
Rolled Alloys provides specialty metals. Kanawha Manufacturing has been in the power, coal and metals industries for more than 100 years and is based in Charleston.
Judge Louis Bloom has been assigned the case.
