HUNTINGTON - A Huntington woman says she was injured during an accident that involved a pressure washer.
Georgia Crockett filed a lawsuit July 14 in Cabell Circuit Court against Joe France and Sonja Butcher of Ona, alleging that the stream of water hit her foot and severely injured it.
On July 17, 2004, she claims she was helping the defendants clean their concrete bench.
"While performing this task, Plaintiff stepped in a hole in Defendant's yard. The hole was concealed by grass," the complaint says. "Stepping into the hole caused Plaintiff to stumble. When Plaintiff stumbled, the stream of water from the pressure washer was directed across her left foot, causing severe injury."
She says she was using a 4200-PSI pressure washer at the time.
"The defendants knew or should have known of the existence of the hole," the complaint says.
Crockett claims she has suffered serious and permanent physical and emotional injuries, a loss of enjoyment of life, physical pain, mental anguish, annoyance and inconvenience and has incurred medical expenses, and will continue to do so.
She is seeking compensatory damages and court costs. Her attorney is Mark Atkinson of Atkinson and Polak in Charleston.
Judge John Cummings has been assigned the case.
