CHARLESTON - Two recently filed asbestos lawsuits each name 108 defendants.
Filed jointly July 26 in Kanawha Circuit Court, the suits were filed through Pittsburgh attorney David Chervenick of Goldberg, Persky and White.
Charles and Nancy Ambrose of Wellsburg are the plaintiffs on the first suit. It says Charles Ambrose, 71, has asbestosis and mesothelioma, two lung diseases related to asbestos exposure, from years of working as a steelworker.
The complaint says he worked out of Local 809 at various steel mills, including Weirton Steel and Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel.
The other suit was filed by Loretta Ullum, individually and as the Executrix of the Estate of William Ullum. It says Ullum died of asbestosis and mesothelioma after years of working as a laborer out of Local 1149.
Both women make loss of consortium claims.
A visiting judge will be assigned the case.
